Hello and Welcome to Eldest Daughter Creative Club!

This space came from my journey to create healthy outlets that made for a positive space for my mental health to thrive.

When I yell out “Get a Hobby!” I mean it as the best piece of advice I can give.  I have been an anxious soul for as long as my parents and I can remember.  I have been in therapy for 7 years and on Lexapro for 5 and those are both imperative to my mental health, but I am convinced that the third piece of my mental health trifecta is crafting.  This is the reason that I want everyone to have something that beings them the same clarity.

“Eldest Daughter Syndrome” is a term that has risen recently to encapsulate the pressures that frequently are experienced by the Eldest Daughter in a family.  It covers perfectionism, the need to please others over taking care of one’s needs,  and often is manifest through anxiety.  You don’t have to be an Eldest Daughter to find room here to shed the pressures of the world, our jobs, and our families.

There’s a lot going on in our lives, so let’s just all take a break, pull out the craft supplies, and take some time for ourselves because we don’t just deserve it, we need it.
